Accomodation / Venue

About the venue: The venue is a modern boutique hotel called the Courtyard by Marriott, Parramatta, located at 18-40 Anderson Street, Parramatta, New South Wales, 2150 Australia.

The venue was chosen for its proximity to Sydney. Parramatta is near the geographic centre of the greater Sydney area & Parramatta itself is a bustling metropolis, with shopping centres, restaurants and theatres amongst the many attractions. Within walking distance of the venue, you can catch a Rivercat ferry or a train to the Sydney CBD and take in the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Aquarium, Museums and many interesting markets to browse.

Accomodation Prices:  We have secured the very good rate of $145 per room per night for a queen/twin room, which includes breakfast for two.

Convention Dinner

Saturday Evening features the Convention Dinner.  The price for the ANGFA dinner will be $55 per head and will be held at the 2150 restaurant at the Courtyard By Marriott. There is a limit of 100 people for the dinner so get in quick.

Features and changes:

Once again, we've deliberately kept convention prices low to ensure the weekend is affordable. As a result, we'd like to point out some minor but important changes.

Firstly, we are requesting you book and pay as soon as possible as seating is strictly limited. Do not leave it until later in the year as we expect this convention to be sold out and bookings will be treated on a first come, first served basis.

Secondly, ANGFA has committed to holding the traditional Saturday night dinner at the venue. But we need a minimum number to make this affordable for all so we request that consideration be given to booking your Saturday night dinner with ANGFA. Bring family and friends. Please support ANGFA if you can.

Thirdly, the Fish Auction is scheduled to start at 8pm Saturday night and is planned to finish by 11pm. This necessitates that the Saturday evening dinner finish well before 8pm so people who want to attend the start of the auction can do so.

Also, the AGM will be held on Friday night and includes discussion of ANGFA Regional Reports and other committee-related matters at the venue. The AGM starts at 8pm on the Friday and interested members are able to attend as there is no cost.

Finally , as usual, Fish Widow Tours will operate over the weekend for those whose partners would like to participate. More information will become available prior to the Convention. Some optional events will be organised to help unwind on the Monday after the convention, these may include tours to the Museum, Zoo or Sydney Aquarium. Partners, in fact all family and children, are more than welcome to attend these tours.
